I'm fairly certain Ella has the better Body than we do. Saying that Ella has the advantage earlier, and the MC later, seems totally incongruent with what we know. The MC's transformations require a base to copy off of, and from what I understand all of his permutations are modifications or simple extrapolations of those powers. This gives him the early lead compared to Ella at the same level, since his ability to pick up body structures through touch allows him to have immediate use, compared to Ella's fine atomic control requiring the development of everything from first principles.

At the high end of these abilities though, Ella can create any structure she has knowledge of, whereas the MC is still limited to permutations of the same structures he's had this whole time. Plus, it's been stated clearly that the MC is not and never will have the same pure power/control that a pure spawn like Ella will have. Our advantages is in the early lead we had and the ability to quickly learn new forms, Ella on the other hand has a total lack of a ceiling except her imagination and knowledge.

You sure? I mean he's powerful, neutral, can create things, and likely isn't monster or super human. What creature fits all of that? Only 1 type.

I guess he could be their god, but that seems unlikely, chosen sounds right. Why pick a side when you can trade with both. A true businessman. So much to learn, so much to earn, so easy too.

Unless there is something I missed I don't see a reason he isn't.

As a later idea, I bet why he calls everyone charlie, is because any other name would give away what he really is, and what he knows.

After all if he called Derbie Kin, or 3rd ones spawn, or whatever. He'd be giving it away.

However, most of the difference between their abilities is that Ella actually knows what she's doing, unlike MC, who's mixing and matching forms he has.

Xanthe told MC that Ella has shown the ability to shift her body at a more precisely and at at smaller scale than than he could, even at a low level (either 1 or 2 for her, don't remember exactly), but the reason isn't necessarily a difference in their power, but rather, a difference in the way they trained and their knowledge. MC basically speedran power gain using memory, while Ella spent years, probably without even evolving, just learning how to use her abilities.

MC and Ella are kind of like bricklayers who build houses.

MC is a young and inexperienced bricklayer who does everything according to plan.
His houses are built exactly according to plan, or using combinations of different plans.
He is precise, but lacks speed and experience and knowledge.

Ella is an experienced bricklayer who works by eye.
Her accuracy suffers a little, but she works faster and more efficiently.
Her limit is her imagination, which is both her advantage and disadvantage.

Some things are simply too complex for the human (or even superhuman) brain to understand effectively.
There are things she will simply never be able to do. But on the other hand, her only limit is her imagination, so she should be able to do some things that will be hard to understand even for MC.

Only one of those builds anything, unless your talking about lego. (even then actual lego sets are designed in cad)

Ella needs to make the "plans" herself, unlike MC, who's got the plans fed straight into him, while MC theoretically can do things by eye, but would do worse at it than Ella.

If Ella's limit is imagination, then MC's is too. (almost) Anything he learns with Memory can be recreated via enough knowledge, trial, and error.

MC's strength here is his speed of learning. What would take Ella years to learn and practice, MC can do in an instant, given he has a blueprint. However, his actual precision and skill in all types of shapeshifting are innately inferior, since he has Memory alongside Body. He also didn't train for precision like she did, since it's less immediately effective than just copying what he needs/mixing what he has... which is a mistake, though that's not to say he shouldn't have collected samples from animals. It's just that learning biology and improving his body structure and makeup would've benefited him greatly.

As for speed of shapeshifting, that is another strength Ella has over MC, both because of her training and since her shapeshifting itself is just more potent.

And if some things are too complex for them to understand, they can shapeshift their brain to be capable enough to understand it. Ella's already modified her reaction speed, intelligence shouldn't be impossible.

MC's only long term advantage over Ella is his actual Memory abilities, not his shapeshifting.

Hmm, a guy who can travel between the human world, the monster worlds, and the dream world without any problems, owns a number of artifacts of immeasurable value, and is able to drain the power of monsters as payment? A guy who has obviously been in this business for a long time and inspires so much fear or respect in everyone that even S rank monsters won't try to steal from him?

This guy is anything but a normal shopkeep :ROFLMAO:
If he's not one of the chosen, then he's at least on their power level (probably higher).

In this update, we saw the memories of a warrior of the Body, killed by a warrior of Authority, complaining how Body didn't bother stepping in on his behalf. But when we kill Jake, Authority has no problem stepping in to avenge him before Body and Memory bail us out and drag him away. Jake certainly didn't seem special enough to warrant direct intervention from an apostle like that. Authority must be running low on candidates to carry its power.

Another takeaway is simply seeing the genuine co-existence between humans and the monsters within Aos' city. If the one memory from the changing heart my MC consumed (from the Shopkeep) speaks true, then the apostles only see humans/monsters as their playthings with no regard to their children's well-being. Honestly, if there's a third option to rebel against the Apostles with the monsters, I will take that 8/10 times.
I'm both proud of Alice becoming stronger and more in tune with her abilities, even with her monster-ification, but to be separated from my favorite LI for god knows how long is going to be painful. I won't lie and say I wasn't getting tired of being stuck in the monster world, but if I could stay a little longer to retrieve Michael alongside Alice, I would've went for that goal.

However, I do miss seeing Emily, who has taken a backseat for quite a long time. If it wasn't for the twin arc, I would've predicted Emily being the next LI to be chosen to gain powers from the apostles/other sources. I will still keep that theory in my back pocket.

Jesus christ the Jake hate is beyond ridiculous at this point. Jake was extremely special in many ways. He also wasn't nearly as much of a pushover as people say he was.

What a weird fucking agenda.
